The Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Environmental and Resource Economics is the first specialized undergraduate program of its kind in South Asia, launched by the Dhaka School of Economics (DScE) to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in the field of environmental and resource management.
This four-year (eight-semester) program is uniquely designed to develop a new generation of economists equipped to tackle today’s most pressing environmental challenges—such as climate change, pollution, ecosystem degradation, and resource depletion—through a robust blend of economic theory, applied research, and policy analysis.

🧾 Admission Requirements
To apply for this program, candidates must:
- Have passed SSC/O-Level (2010–2021) and HSC/A-Level (2022–2023) or equivalent
- Have a combined GPA of 6.0 or higher (including 4th subject)
- O/A Level candidates: Minimum 5 subjects in O-Level and 2 in A-Level with at least 4 B grades and 3 C grades
- Preference is given to applicants who studied Mathematics or Economics at the HSC/A-level
📝 Admission Process

- Written test: Includes problem-solving, statistics, math, and general environmental knowledge

- DScE reserves the right to adjust the admission criteria when necessary
💳 Tuition Fees and Scholarships
- Total Program Cost: Approx. BDT 4,26,600
- Initial Admission + 1st Semester Fee: BDT 66,080
- Per Semester Fee (2nd–8th): BDT 48,400
Tuition Waivers & Scholarships:
At Admission:
- GPA 5.00 in both SSC & HSC: 20% waiver
- GPA 5.00 in HSC only: 15%
- GPA ≥ 4.50 average: 10%
Merit-Based Each Semester:
- SGPA ≥ 3.85: 40% waiver
- SGPA 3.75–3.84: 25%
- SGPA 3.50–3.74: 10%
